Peter Parker's Dad or uncle, yes wait, uncle, that sounds right, once said "with great power comes great responsibility." This is especially true for entertainers--when one has amassed the hearts and minds of the public, modeling good behavior becomes a lot more important. We decided it was time to give back, and we could think of no other or better way than to host what is sure to be the first of many Down The Toobs telethons (no charity element). In this certified heater of an episode the toob men investigate one certain Mr. Brian Johnson, a tech bro (shocker) who's dedicated every moment of his waking life to reverse aging and longevity so he can catch a few more Marvel movies before he turns into dust. We also assert a new theory that he might be harvesting his sons. After that we talk about some epic life hacks such as having interests, pursuing a good life, and optimizing your ratio of solo hobbies to social hobbies in order to achieve maximum happiness utils.

Part two of when Sam came down and we were straight VIBING in this CR-V. (it's a gen 2 i think, god what a great gen). In this one we trade ideas about our brain fog back and forth. Is it long you-know-what? Is it mad cow kuru style brain prion illness? Cell phone towers? Okay probably not that one. Topics include AM radio, honking, steven crowder, and then even more hypochondriac stuff--geeze we gotta relax! In retrospect I maybe should have edited out the car ASMR / radio harsh noise too, idk...just take a strong drink before this one. It's called chilling

In which Sam & I (Brendon) brave extremely dangerous flood conditions in Los Angeles California to find the perfect podcast spot. "We can record on the beach!" I said. "Oh, well, I guess we can just find somewhere with an awning!" I said. Nope, I was an idiot. The answer was right in front of us all along: park that hunk of excellent Japanese engineering halfway down the Griffith Observatory mountain and talk it out like guys. Topics include XLR cables, Behringer being cancelled for synthing the wrong way, Werner Herzog, and Andrew Huberman again for good measure.

I basically had to force Jack to record this one. Props to him considering we had just finished recording a 2 hour piece of crap and it was 10pm so basically this was a graveyard pod for him--u guys really dont appreciate how hard he works for you. i guess maybe venmo him 200 dollars or hire him at your restaurant. Ah yes, remember December 2022? A slower time, a simpler time...all of us were talking about the new spending bill, and the full depape arrest video hadn't even been released yet! The three boys were sick as dogs, but that didn't stop them from discussing pressing cultural flashpoints like fistulized cattle, paul giamatti's sexual proclivities on the set of billions, and house sitting as a depression ritual. I also bring up the Haitian independence debt in like the last 20 minutes without any real insight but maybe you could read about it on wikipedia, idk seemed pretty crazy to me. France, our DM's are open!

In this one we cover a lot of delicate subjects like the local percussion drummer to belly dancing mom's group pipeline, the satanic nature of mr beast (recorded a month ago, like the kanye thing too--bro we are straight up prescient idk) and whether or not james cameron may have accidentally ripped off crazy frog when he was making avatars one & two. Also editor's note, while editing this i realized i like fully mandella effected crazy frog's hover bike in my mind. I 4 real thought he had like a visible metal hover bike with two little hover pods, then went to go look for an image and realized the whole point is his bike is invisible?? got pretty pissed off for like an hour, then denial, grief, etc.

This one tickled me so personally that I released a new type of laugh I didn't know I had--this sort of crazy high pitched cackle. REAAAALLY hard to watch it back. It was only through the power of our awesome insightful and prescient comedy that I was able to stick with it. Also we talked about Kanye in this one and didn't mention him being a bad guy, but that's because this was recorded a few months ago, just so you know. Gets pretty hectic at the end, you might want to turn your radio down for this one dawg.

Very chill vibe here, episode 18 is pretty sick though. Chill you know, like laid back. Sometimes people don't even wanna laugh, you know? Like laughing can be TOO stimulating when you're just tryna chill, so we thought we'd put out one of these easy ones for ppl who are trying to relax in a sarco pod or pilot a commercial jet. Also I bleeped too much of this one because I read some thing about cursing and the algo, but then I read another thing that said that's only in the first couple minutes that it counts or some shit? Idk I'm not doing it again--I mean I accidentally exported the audio at 128kbps and I didn't even go back and fix that, so I'm certainly not unbleeping.

 

Topics include: My scary ex-coworker who could definitely find my address if he wanted, foreign dating dot com, the end of a steven seagal movie we like, and how to prioritize sleep.

We're back in the saddle folks, but first we've got a couple of canned pods we've got to bust out, get the plumbing started up, podcast draino to make way for a new generation, Down the 2bs.0 if you will. In this one we talk about the videogame Myst for a while, but then we get to the good stuff and read a few pr0n scripts Jack sold on craigsist while in LA to make ends meet.
